Kevin Turnbull HND Building Studies

Kevin Turnbull was born in Sunderland in 1967 and has worked and lived in the North East of England all his life. He started work in 1983 for Douglas Wise and Partners in Newcastle and studied at Newcastle Polytechnic gaining Ordinary and Higher National Certificates in Building Studies.

Working with the renowned practice Powell Moya on the £25 million Wansbeck General Hospital in Ashington, he gained valuable site and contractual experience, subsequently joining Jane Darbyshire and David Kendall Ltd in 1992.

Within the practice Kevin has been responsible for the delivery of a wide range of projects, including major housing developments in Chester city centre and Bolton and also on International Telehouses throughout Europe for an American corporate client. More recently Kevin has been working with Sunderland Housing Group as part of the Sunderland Partnering Forum on their major housing regeneration programme. His earlier healthcare experience has been particularly of value in his recent involvement with healthcare projects such as The Marie Curie Centre, Newcastle upon Tyne and the new undergraduate medical school at Sunderland Royal Hospital. Within the commercial sector Kevin has been closely involved with commercial and light industrial development at Apex Business Village on the Northumberland Business Park and at Pallion in Sunderland.

Kevin became an associate of the practice in April 2000 and a Director in April 2003 with particular responsibility for health and safety matters relating to CDM, technical documentation including IT and resource programming. With a technological background he has augmented the breadth of expertise of the practice directors, taking a lead role in proactive collaboration with constructors, many of whom now form an important element of the practice's client base.
