Nicola Watson BA (Hons) BArch(Hons) RIBA

Nicola Watson's architectural training was based at Newcastle University, during which time she spent three months studying at the School of Architecture in Nancy, France and one year at the University of Venice in Italy. She received the Newcastle University Litchfield Hendy Prize for her performance in her RIBA Part 3 examination. Nicola joined the practice in 1993, the year after graduating.

Her work in the practice as a hands-on architect has been diverse, often focusing on projects within the education and childcare fields where complex briefs required extensive interaction and consultation with end-user clients.

Nicola has developed strong long-term working relationships with both housing developers and major regional landowners and has been involved with numerous brown-field redevelopment schemes involving the re-use of historic buildings and the design of new housing in both sensitive rural and urban environments.

Nicola has acted as an assessor for RIBA Design Awards and leads the practice's public relations and marketing work.
